A small amount of blood is drawn and placed in the centrifuge to be separated into its components. The platelet rich plasma component (or PRP) is transferred to syringes to be injected into various areas of the face and neck. This entire process takes about an hour.
PRF injections leave no scarring and have very little downtime. The treated areas of your face will feel a little tender or a sunburn sensation, which should recover within 24 to 72 hours. Swelling and bruising is a common occurrence, swelling will last for 48 – 72 hours and can be treated by icing the areas. Avoiding strenuous activity for 24 to 48 hours is recommended as well as avoiding exposure of the treated skin to direct sun. More serious tissue reactions are extremely rare as PRF is a truly natural process of injecting your own blood.
